3 Week Vacation planned in Costa Rica to investigate living there permanently in June, 2007

Fifty something couple looking for other American Expats to communicate with regarding experiences and advice for relocation to Costa Rica.

We have done research on the internet and have read 6 guide books we purchased on-line.

Based on this we believe we would like to live somewhere in Central Valley. We do not care for muggy hot environments except to visit occasionally.

-Our travel plans are to begin our vacation on April 28 by flying into San Jose and staying in an hotel there for 7 days
-then 7 days at our time share in Playa Hermosa
-then off to Liberia for two more days in a Motel
- then off to another Time share in Playa La Coyotera for 7 more days
- Then back to Liberia to fly home on May 21st, 2006

We have rented a 4X4 for the entire trip and plan to drive and explore. Is this an unreal expectation for two foreigners who speak little Spanish, armed only with and Spanish/English dictionary?

no it's not unreal

Look thanfully here most people to some degree speak english and you will not have a problem communicating I can really REALLY assure you that, now first I bet that the experience in a San Jose hotel will not be very nice ( well depends on the hotel ), San Jose is a normal city but you gotta be carefull and if you have a hotel like in Central Downtown San Jose, I really recommend for you to change it, ( insist depends on the hotel )

The experiencee on the beach will be FINE i bet, just remember take care of the money, the camaras, don't be naive, and keep and eye out.

now, for living here as I wrote in some past articles around here right now there are GREAT oportunities for buying a nice home, I understand that you are looking for a nice weather somewhat cold and not very humid, I recommend looking in Coronado, San Jose de la Monta
